Liz Gallant, CD, PCD, Postpartum Support Specialist
Liz is a DONA Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula. Prior to becoming a doula, Liz was an educator with endorsements in Bilingual/E.S.L, GT, P.E., and Special Education. Liz holds a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Colorado and she was a classroom teacher for many years before becoming a mother.
She was introduced to the concept of a doula when pregnant with her first child in 2004. The Hypnobirthing Childbirth Educator her and her husband chose would, at the last minute (!), become her doula. Liz felt that her support and encouragement allowed her to have the birth experience she had hoped for.
Liz has always been extremely interested in health and the connection it has to our longevity and quality of life. In 2011 she became a Certified Health Coach through a program that pediatrician Dr. William Sears developed. One portion of this program focused on the nutrition and wellness of pregnant women and children in particular. She weaves this learning into my work with moms-to-be and their families.
She has been a doula for the past 4 years, helping women realize their own strengths, as her birth doula did for her. Providing a solid support for women and their families through the birth and postpartum periods absolutely aligns with her innate love for "all things children." When new moms and their partners feel confident and competent loving and caring for their babies, everybody thrives. Liz’s role at the birth center allows her to give our fresh postpartum families that love and support.
Liz and her husband are lucky enough to have four daughters, live in Littleton, and thoroughly enjoy all that the mountains, creeks, and trails of Colorado have to offer.
